Surtex, number 8

Wow! Another year come and gone. After months of preparation, a year of new work, 3 wonderful days exhibiting, I'm back in my studio ready to begin so much new work. Many thanks to my wonderful licensing partners for your continued interest in my work and allowing me to do what I love! I'm so excited to begin work on all of the new products. And of course, a HUGE part of the show is getting to see my dear artist friends and spend time at the show and wandering the streets of NYC. See you all again same time, next year!

a Mother's garden

For Mother's Day, my daughter Jenna, sister Teresa and niece Olivia treated my mom to a wonderful afternoon at the gorgeous Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. I've lived on the Kitsap Peninsula for over 20 years and have never been there. It was an absolutely perfect 75 degree day and...well...I'll just let my photos speak for themselves.....

tiptoeing....

Yesterday, I visited my dear friend and amazing artist, Sharyn Sowell and we toured the tulips fields in the Skagit Valley near her home. The sun wasn't quite shining, but that only made for better photos. Everything around here is late this year, so the daffodil fields were still in bloom, an extra treat. We've have so much rain this spring, we literally had to tiptoe our way through the paths to avoid sinking into the mud puddles. Hope you enjoy this incredible display of nature......the colors are absolutely stunning!

serenity....

Last weekend my daughter Amber came home for Easter with her boyfriend Carl. The weather was perfect, and the tide low, so we headed up to Dungeness Spit. It's my favorite place to hike and I was surprised at the wide expanse of sandy beach. We walked out to the lighthouse, which is a short 5.5 miles :) It was sunny and warm, with gorgeous views of Mt. Baker and the Olympics. The sign at the end of the beach reads "welcome to serenity" and I couldn't think of a better name for this heavenly place.

flowers and friendship

What better way to spend a rainy February day than at the NW Flower and Garden show with a dear friend? Yesterday, my friend and amazing artist Sharyn Sowell and I met in Seattle...she came by bus from the north, I on the ferry from the west, and had a wonderful day walking, smelling, photographing and spending our way through the show. We came away inspired, renewed and overwhelmed with spring fever! Here are just a few of the things we saw....
